About The Event

A recent Cigna Health study reports that 35% of adults, over 42 million people in the United States are experiencing chronic loneliness. Isolation has impaired their health by raising levels of hormones and inflammation, which can increase the risk of heart disease, arthritis, Type 2 diabetes, dementia, and even suicide attempts. Social workers and those they serve will be equipped with information and tools to increase social connections that will assist in mitigating the individual, societal and economic cost that accompanies isolation.
